The snow is still here in parts but more of a concern is ice especially on the side roads.

Newquay schools remain open
Main roads have been cleared and apart from being wet are for the most part safe but obviously take care especially as any standing water could well be ice.
The council have issued a large list of school closures across the county click here and Truro and Cornwall colleges have also advised all students and teachers not to travel. Any that have made the journey to Truro and cannot go home immediately are being kept in the refectory where they can get food and the study centres are still open.
The cold weather is due to continue for the foreseeable future so as always be will keep you up to date with the latest news.

I moved down from the midlands and it is pretty much at freezing or below from november to february every year with at least a week or two of snow and it still stops everything! Almost a third of the year and cant cope so Cornwall is well organised compared to up there because at least it is a suprise down here!

ReportWell done Newquay for keeping your schools open. It seems we get snow every year and are never prepared for it.
