I am writing on here to vent to be honest, my children go to St Columb Minor school.  The last week of last term builders came in and took apart the inside outside play area for the reception children and from what I could see put a new roof frame on it.

At the same time a shed was built on the playing field which was to be the start of the adventure playgroung that has been long awaited.

7 weeks later and the day before the kids go back diggers turn up and start digging up the field to start making the playground!  Who planned that one? 7 weeks of no kids and a secure site to work on and not in bad weather and they start the day before the kids go back.  The play ground and field are split up by lots of fencing and it is a total mess, why was this not done in the holidays, I thought as did the other parents that they started before the holidays so they could finish in time for the new term!

As for the inside outside the roof frame that was there before the holidays is still there and the slabs on the floor are still the same as before the holidays as still have the glue on from the previous floor being stuck down!  I have seen that there have been people in that area over the holidays but nothing has changed, does anyone know why?

This does seem like quite a bit of poor planning. However I do think LoulabellaF has a point. They could have been doing things inside over the summer.

You should ask the school why. It may be they were doing other things over the summer, like work inside classrooms, or that there was an unexpected delay from the adventure playground people/suppliers.
