Newquay police have arrested 7 people in connection with a London murder.
The operation was in conjunction with the Metropolitan police and armed officers successfully arrested 4 men and 3 women over the 2 days without incident.
The shooting happened last Friday in Harrow Town Centre, the 35 year old man was shot and fatally wounded while sitting in a car. He was taken to hospital where he remained critical until Wednesday when he died from his injuries. The police said that there had been no threat to the public during the operation and that it had been a great success.
This explains the higher than normal police presence in the town over and the unusual sight of armed officers that were presence.
The 7 people arrested are being questioned in police stations across Cornwall.

It reminds me of that (rather terrible) film, Outlaw. Armed cockney gunmen try to escape the police by hiding out in Cornwall. Keep us posted.

Reporti did hear that there were loads of armed police in town this week, this would explain why. Haven't heard whether the people arrested are local yet.
