"Not to Miss" Newquay Zoo!

You simply HAVE to get to the zoo this summer. It is looking so beautiful, the staff are on form and full of interesting stories to tell. The animals all have big smiles on their faces and - what more can I say - it is a wonderful day out! My niece absolutely LOVES IT!

A hands-on experience at a charming local zoo

I really thought Newquay Zoo would end up just being Paignton's poorer sister. How wrong I was. Apart from the initial annoyance of having to pay rather a lot to park in a council-owned long-stay car park, the zoo itself is charming.
My two half-sisters (11 and 13 years old) thought it was the most delightful zoo they'd been to - they even got to feed the meerkats and throw a fish to the penguins!
In the tropical hut we had been watching the tucan so intently we didnt realise there was a sloth snoozing in the branches just a foot or two from our heads!
    A lovely, lovely day out.

Newquay Zoo - focused on education. conservation & FUN !

Have just spent a fascinating 90mins on a guided tour of Newquay Zoo. How I wish it could have been about 4hrs longer ! There is so much to see, & so much information to digest throughout the 14 acre site. The zoo is making a significant contribution to global conservation, & houses many species in danger of extinction in the wild. You will not go wrong recommending Newquay Zoo to your friends relatives or guests. It is guaranteed to deliver from Lions to Meerkats, & what is possibly the worlds rarest animal - Bob the Bali Starling.

    Small but mighty!

As with many things in Newquay, it may not be the largest, but what it lack in size it makes up for in charm. This small zoo is a great place for an afternoon out for anyone who loves animals. Most importantly of all, in my opinion anyway, is the fact that the zoo is a pioneering leader of conversation work. Running campaigns and raising awareness of animals, insects and reptiles it is good to know that the staff and Zoo owners are real animal lovers. The zoo also runs some very funny and great fun, events during the year including Boo Zoo,
Panda-cake day and my favourite - Darwin day, where those sporting a beard get discounted entry! Genius!
See Lions, zebra, lemurs, red panda and lots more!

    Lovely Zoo

Newquay Zoo is fantastic, I love visiting and make sure we go at least once a year. As zoo's go it's not huge but they still have a large range of animals to see and the grounds are very well kept. Even on busy days it feels spacious and there always seem to be plenty of activities going on to keep everyone entertained.

    Newquay Zoo is brilliant!

I love Newquay zoo and so do my family, our kids are 10, 5 and 1 and they all love it here, it is not the biggest Zoo in the world but it is laid out beautifully. The enclosures offer great views of the animals and the whole place is always kept in perfect condition.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there are always things going on throughout the day.
Overall if you are in Newquay and want something to do other than play on the beach, this is the place to go.
