NP: Living in such a beautiful region of England it's all about living off the land and getting the very best organic produce to cook and eat, but for some of us it really is a mission hunting around for the best local ingredients at the best price.  Well I think I've found a farm shop that answers all of your dreams.  Not only providing the very best  meat, vegetables and produce from their onsite farm shop but a delivery service to take all the hassle out of looking for the produce you need, now that is what you call service.  I just HAD to get the low down on all the yummy treats you could get from the farm shop as it's not all about the meat and vegetables these guys can even provide you with homemade bread, jams, marmalades, farm pies, quiches, cake well I could go on forever but enough of me babbling on let's get the inside scoop and find out all the info from Errol who works at Trevilley Farm.

NP: So thank you so much for joining us here today with NewquayPeople and taking time out from your bust schedule.  SO for any of our readers out there not familiar with Trevilley Farm where can we find you?  And at what times?

TF: Glad to be here! We can be found off the A392 which is the road from Newquay to Quintrell Downs. We are open Monday to Saturday 9.30am until 5.30pm.

We can also be found online at www.trevilleyfarm.com

NP: So I've already given the readers a sneak preview of what type of products they can expect from the farm shop anything else they should be looking out for?

TF: We rear our own beef and lamb. At Christmas we have our own free-range bronze turkeys, geese and produce amazing multi bird rolls. We grow some of our own veg as well. As you said, we produce a wide range from our on-site kitchen – jams, pies, cakes, biscuits, scones and our ever-so-popular Cornish pasties! Aside from this, we sell produce from about 60 different suppliers, nearly all of whom are Cornish. So we sell an incredible range from Cornish milk and clotted cream to chutney and international award winning local sparkling wines. We sell Cornish meat including pork, chicken, duck and rabbit. In short, we try and source the best quality produce that Cornwall has to offer and if something isn't available from within the county we will then source it from the UK.

NP: What I love about your Farm is that is truly is a family run business, with its farm shop in its 8th year can you tell us a little bit of history for the farm how it has evolved and developed?

TF:  The farm is now supporting the fifth generation of our family and has been in the family for about 100 years. The ideals behind what and how we farm remain largely unchanged. 10 years ago, the owners, Keith and Gill Barrett, started a veg stand with an honesty box at the top of the lane. They were so surprised by how popular it was proving and so the idea to diversify and open up a shop was born. It coincided with a time when diversification was very popular because the agricultural sector as a whole was suffering, but there clearly was a demand by local people for local produce. It was this local demand that inspired Keith and Gill to open Trevilley Farm Shop.

NP: I have to say the produce boxes you supply are amazing, can you fill us and the readers in on how we go about ordering one and the terms and conditions?

TF: We do a weekly produce box round on a Thursday to Newquay and its surrounds. We really try and make the box as consumer friendly as possible and so get a clear idea of what you like and don't like. Therefore, if you want carrots, for example, every week you will get them, but if you don't like broad beans then you won't. Of course our veg is seasonal so this is a factor. You can also include anything you like from the shop (including chilled products like meat and milk), you can change or add contents from week to week and you can have weekly, alternate week or monthly deliveries. We don't ask for any commitment so you can have one delivery to see if you like it!

or speak to us in the shop.

NP: So for any of our readers out there not living in the Newquay area but travelling down to the area for a holiday I see you do delivered hampers as well as collection from the farm shop, what sort of goodies can we expect inside?

TF: Yes, that's right; we also provide produce boxes to local self catering accommodation.

Guests can choose from our price list and tailor a produce box to their exact requirements or they can order our set box which covers breakfast (granola, yoghurt and sausages, bacon, egg and mushroom) and lunch (pasties, bread, ham and cheese) along with a few extra bits and treats like fudge, chocolate and a Trevilley Farm cake!

NP: Lastly I see you have a field which you use for a Marquee, this sounds fab can you tell us a little bit about that?

TF: My wife Georgie and I had a marquee in there for our wedding reception. The day went so well and the idea sprung from there. It offers a great view and is just a lovely place for any kind of party. We also offer a catering service, not just on our venue but throughout the area.

NP: Well I could talk to you guys all day, you have some great services, at great prices and all on our very own doorstep!! Well I know what I will be doing this summer! With great local produce being delivered straight to your door there is no excuse in not eating the very best produce!!!

Thank you once again Trevilley Farm we shall be heading on over to their open farm day this Saturday the 12th June to have a look around! For all event details click here.   See you all at the farm!
