THIS result, and performance, was a good yardstick as to how Wadebridge have improved since Mark Menhinick and Stuart Parkyn took charge at Bodieve Park, writes Mike Sampson.

All smiles from Luke Weldhen after he puts Newquay two up in the first half of the match against Wadebridge Town at Mount Wise. Picture by Chris Cox.
Newquay might be running away with the division one west title but, despite going three goals down, the Bridgers gave their hosts a hard time before finally going down to the odd goal in five.
Menhinick said: "We gave Newquay a fright and given another five minutes we might have got a deserved equaliser – it was Newquay who were glad to hear the final whistle and not us."
Danny Brook, an own goal and Glen Squires had given Newquay their seemingly unassailable lead until goals from Paul Menhinick and substitute Steve Latham left the hosts hanging on.
Menhinick said: "It was ironic that we had worked out before the game that the only player in the first team squad not to have scored was Steve Latham."
MoM: Nick Dowling (Wadebridge).
